Employee compensation for Wisconsin’ forest product industry for 2010 was 2.4 billion dollars. Wisconsin is second in the nation in employment and compensation, with California being first. Pulp, paper and allied firms provide 28,700 high quality jobs in which the pay is 60% higher than the state average. In the state, paper and allied firms account for 7.4 of the manufacturing jobs. The value of shipments for the pulp, paper and allied firms is estimated to be about 14 billion dollars. Wisconsin’s printing industry employs an additional 29,000 workers with employee compensation of 1.3 billion dollars. With a value of shipments estimated to be about 5.0 billion dollars. Wisconsin is first in the nation in value of shipment of the forest industry with a value of shipments of 18 billion dollars. International Woodworking Fair (IWF) – Atlanta, GA The International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair – USA (IWF) is the largest woodworking technology trade show in the Western hemisphere. It is held every other year at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA and is recognized around the world as the preeminent event for introducing and selling manufacturing equipment, supplies and innovative new technology.
